The Chamber of Solitude
CLIENT- Mr. Bansal
PROJECT STATUS- Completed
SERVICES OFFERED- Interior design
Located in one of the greenest localities of Delhi, a small 'interiors only' project, of a 15ft x 14ft room. The client, being a lawyer, demanded a stimulating room with pops of colours for their newborn. The aim of this design is to provide a design that serves a multitude of textures, while giving the overall sense of peace, calm, solitude.
Presenting itself as a Pandora's box of textures and colours, the room despite being small, presented its own challenges. It came with the responsibility of giving multiple uses, from a stimulating study space, ample space for working out around the bed, and a small day lounge to enjoy a casual tea.
The aim of the design was to meet these requirements without making the space feel overloaded or small. The focus was given to using a blend of colours, while keeping the planning simple and efficient. The bay window provided a hollow escape into the outside, allowing the room to look bigger. A game of lines patterns was played with the upholstery, to add whimsy to the space; while a teal shade of blue was used to add a pop of colour, without becoming an eyesore.
